Emmaus includes the whole Bible — Berean Standard, King James, and American Standard, with audio — but it’s built for what happens around your reading: understanding a passage, a morning word written for your life, daily rhythms of prayer and reflection, and walking with others. Many people keep the Bible app they love and use Emmaus alongside it.
Does it replace my Bible, my church, or the Holy Spirit?
No. Emmaus is a tool. The Bible is the source, and the Holy Spirit is the teacher. Emmaus points you back to Scripture, to prayer, and to your local church — never away from them.
Is it AI? Can it be wrong?
Yes, Emmaus uses AI built on Anthropic’s Claude and guided to stay grounded in Scripture and point you to the passages it draws on. It can get things wrong, and interpretations differ across traditions, so read the text for yourself and test what you learn.
Can I talk to Emmaus out loud?
Yes. Tap the orb and speak. Emmaus listens, replies in a calm spoken voice, and points you back to the passage. You can always type instead; the microphone is only requested when you start a voice conversation. Spoken replies are part of the subscription.
What does Emmaus believe?
Emmaus is grace-centered and rooted in historic, non-denominational evangelical Christianity. On secondary and disputed questions it holds positions with humility, pointing you to Scripture, prayer, and your local church rather than settling them for you.
Is what I share private?
Yes. There’s no feed and no public profile, and nothing you write is sold or used for advertising. You can see and erase what Emmaus remembers, export your data, or delete your account from inside the app. Walking partners see only what you choose to share — never your journal, your conversations, or how far you are in the Word.
